  • I lost my serial number, where can I retrieve it?
    If you've lost your serial number, don't worry you can retrieve it from:
    • If you still have your purchase order email then you can find it in the Order Summary section
    • Otherwise you can retrieve your serial number from our after-sales support area. (requires the email address you used for the purchase).
  • How do I register my serial number?
    1. Launch the application and click "Register..."
    2. Enter your serial number
    3. Click Register

    You can find the serial number in your order email.

    Note: If you purchased the application from within the application, then your license key was registered automatically after you completed the purchase.
  • My serial number is not working!
    If you've followed the steps described here and your serial number is not working, then please check the following:
    • If you copy-paste the serial number make sure there are no spaces at the start or end of the serial number
    • If you enter the serial number by hand make sure all letters are uppercase
    • You're entering the entire serial number. All serial numbers begin with the name of the application in uppercase (for example MAINMENU, IARCHIVER, ...) followed by a combination of dashes, upper case letters and digits

  • How do I buy an application?
    You can buy our applications either from within the application (recommended) or from the webstore:

    In the application. The easiest and most convenient way to buy is within the application:
    1. Launch the application
    2. Click Buy...
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions
    Your serial number will be automatically registered when you successfully complete the purchase. The serial number will also be sent to you in your order email.

    From the webstore. You can also buy from the online webstore. You will then be sent a serial number that you can activate as described here.
  • Where do I download the applications?
    You can download our applications from the downloads page.
  • What are the system requirements for your applications?
    You can find the system requirements on the individual product pages or on the downloads page.
  • Where is my purchase order email?
    Usually the purchase order email is sent within minutes after a successful purchase. If you haven't received your purchase order email please try one of the following:

    • Check your spam/junk mail folder. Strict junk filters may mistake the purchase order for spam email so please check your junk mail for the purchase order email. The subject line will contain the string "eSellerate Order Notice".
    • Visit our after-sales area. You can have the purchase order email resent to you by visiting our after after-sales support site.
    • Wait for half an hour. For various technical reasons it could take a bit longer than usual for the email to arrive, so sometimes the best thing to do is wait for a short while.
    • Contact us. If the purchase order email is neither in your spam folder and even resending it doesn't work then please contact us and will have it sorted out for your in no time.

  • Where is my shipment?
    Our applications are not physically shipped. In your order email you will find a serial number that you can activate as described here.

  • What payments options do you support?

  • What happened to iArchiver?
    With the latest version we decided it was time to give iArchiver not just a polished new interface but also a catchy name -- Rucksack.

    Development of iArchiver has officially ended and we're putting all our efforts into Rucksack.

    If you own an iArchiver license you can upgrade to Rucksack at a discount.
  • Is there an upgrade available for iArchiver users?
    Yes. If you have a licensed copy of iArchiver then you can purchase an upgrade here.
  • I recently purchased iArchiver, do I still need to buy the upgrade?
    If you purchased iArchiver after March 1st, 2010 you're entitled to a free upgrade.

    Simply send us an email with your iArchiver serial number or the email you purchased it with and we'll send you a Rucksack license.

    If you purchased iArchiver before the above date, you can upgrade to Rucksack for a discount.
  • What does the "Clean" menu item do?
    The Clean menu item removes any stale temporary working directories created by Rucksack.

    Normally Rucksack cleans up any working directories automatically when an operation (such as extracting an archive) completes. Running this command is only necessary if Rucksack quits unexpectedly and so wasn't able to clean up the temporary directories automatically.
  • Can Rucksack open encrypted RAR files?
    Yes, Rucksack can open encrypted RAR archives (see this howto for instructions).
  • Can Rucksack open split RAR archives?
    Yes, Rucksack can open RAR archives split into multiple volumes. Please see this howto on opening multi-part RAR archives.
  • Can Rucksack open split 7zip archives?
    Yes, Rucksack can open 7zip archives split into multiple volumes. Please see this howto on opening multi-part 7zip archives.
  • Can Rucksack open archives in format X?
    Rucksack can handle most of the common and not so common archive formats -- please see this list of supported archive formats.
  • Can Rucksack extract only specific files and folders of an archive?
    Currently not but due to high popular demand this is a feature that's coming soon...
  • What kind of encryption does Rucksack use?
    Rucksack uses pkzip encryption for Zip archives and AES-256 for 7zip archives.
  • Can Rucksack split and combine files?
    Yes!

    If you want to split a file, simply drag it onto Rucksack and click Split. You can then choose the split size and whether to compress the split files.

    Similarly, to combine a file from a set of split files, drag the files onto Rucksack and click Combine.
  • Where can I download iArchiver?

    Please note that development for iArchiver has official ended, and we're encouraging all users to update to Rucksack.
  • Where can I download MainMenu for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger?
    Click here to download an older version of MainMenu that will run under Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger.

    Please note that we're no longer able to provide support for MainMenu running on Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, so we recommend you update to the latest version that runs on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and later.
  • Why does MainMenu keep telling me it will quit for security reasons?
    If you get an error message saying that MainMenu will quit because it's security has been breached, then the most likely explanation is that you used an application or system tool that trims or otherwise modifies applications.

    Applications known to cause this problem include Monolingual and Xslimmer.

    To protect your system, MainMenu does not allow itself to be trimmed or otherwise modified by other applications.

    To prevent this error message from appearing, we recommend that when you run these applications you tell them not to modify MainMenu.
  • I donated to MainMenu in the past, do I get a discount for version 2?
    Yes. We will honor the promise made by the past owner of MainMenu that all donors will receive a free serial number for MainMenu 2.

    If you donated to MainMenu in the past, contact us and send us your PayPal transaction confirmation number (available through your PayPal account history).
  • How do I uninstall MainMenu?
    To uninstall MainMenu, move the MainMenu.app file to your Trash.

    In case you had "Keep authorized" ticked in the preferences you may also want to delete the MainMenu folder in Library/Application Support.

  • Is there an upgrade available for Renamer4Mac users?
    Yes. If you have a licensed copy of Renamer4Mac then you can purchase an upgrade here.
  • I recently purchased Renamer4Mac, do I still need to buy the upgrade?
    If you purchased Renamer4Mac after July 1st 2009 we will provide you with a free upgrade license for version 4. Simply fill out this form with the email you used in your purchase and your order number and we will send it to you.
  • Why did you change the application name?
    With version 4 we decided it was time to give Renamer4Mac not just a shiny new interface but also a simpler, crisper name. We believe that Renamer captures the essence of our application: an elegant, easy-to-use file renamer.
  • How do I rename hidden files?
    To rename hidden files you first need to get Finder to show them:
    1. In Finder go to the Applications > Utilities folder
    2. Double-click Terminal.app
    3. Type the following and then press return
      defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -bool true
    4. Type the following and then press return
      killall Finder

    Now you can rename your hidden files in Renamer4Mac:
    1. Drag in the hidden files now visible in Finder
    2. Make sure "Name and extension" is selected
    3. Rename files as usual

    Once you're finished you can restore Finder to hide hidden files again:
    1. Open Terminal.app again as described in Steps 1-2 in the first paragraph
    2. Type the following and then press return
      defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -bool false
  • Does Renamer support backreferences in regular expressions?
    Yes.

    For Renamer version 4.0.1 and later you can capture groups of a string with (...) and then backreference the groups with $1, $2, ... where 1 is the first group and so on.

    For example if you want to rename files "img_001.jpg", "img_002.jpg", "img_00n.jpg" to "01 - Photo.jpg", "02 - Photo.jpg", 0n - Photo.jpg":
    1. Click Search & Replace
    2. In "Search for:" enter "img_0(\d\d)"
    3. In "Replace with:" enter "\1 - Photo"
    4. Select the "Regular expression" tick box
    5. Select "Name only"

    Note: for Renamer version 4.0 and earlier you can backreference with \1, \2, ...

  • Yum starts but I can't open any recipes
    Yum requires Mac OS X Leopard (10.5).

    If you're still running Mac OS X Tiger (10.4) you can download an older version of Yum here.

  • How do I copy recipes between collections?
    To copy recipes between collections:
    1. Select the recipes you want to copy
    2. Drag them to the other collection
  • How do print scaled recipes?
    1. Choose Yum > Preferences...
    2. Under "When printing and viewing recipes use" select "Scaled Amounts For All Recipes"
    3. Click OK

    The next time you print a recipe the amounts will be scaled.

    Here's how
    1. Go to System Preferences
    2. Click Exposé & Spaces
    3. Click "+" and then click Other...
    4. Select SlidePad and click Add
    5. In the newly added row select Every Space in the Space column
  • Where does SlidePad save the notes?
    The SlidePad database is located in your home directory under
    Library/Application Support/SlidePad/pages.sav
  • How do I activate SlidePad automatically on start up?
    To activate SlidePad on start up:
    1. Go to System Preferences
    2. Click Accounts
    3. Select your account in the accounts list
    4. Click Login Items
    5. Click "+", locate SlidePad and click Add
  • Can I run SlidePad without a dock icon?
    We're working on an update that will include this as an option in the Preferences.

    In the meantime you can use the following workaround:
    1. Go to the Applications folder (or wherever you installed SlidePad)
    2. Ctrl-Click on SlidePad.app and select Show Package Contents
    3. Go to the Contents directory and double-click Info.plist
    4. Click on one of the rows
    5. Click Add Item
    6. In the Key column enter NSUIElement and in the Value column enter 1
    7. Click Save and then select File > Quit

    The next time you start SlidePad it will be without a dock icon.

    Yes, Dragoman allows you to choose the resolution of Kodak PCD photos:
    1. Choose Dragoman > Preferences
    2. Click Images
    3. Select your required resolution
  • Can I change the DPI resolution of images and photos with Dragoman?
    Yes, you can set the DPI print resolution with Dragoman:
    1. Choose Dragoman > Preferences
    2. Click Images
    3. Set the DPI to your required resolution

    Note that since the DPI is an instruction to the printer, it does not resize or resample the image on screen.
