I lost my serial number, where can I retrieve it?
If you've lost your serial number, don't worry
you can retrieve it from:
- If you still have your purchase order email
then you can find it in the Order
Summary section
- Otherwise you can retrieve your serial
number from our after-sales
support area. (requires the email
address you used for the purchase).

How do I register my serial number?
- Launch the application and click
"Register..."
- Enter your serial number
- Click Register
You can find the serial number in your order
email.
Note: If you purchased the application from
within the application, then your license key was
registered automatically after you completed the
purchase.

My serial number is not working!
If you've followed the
steps
described here and your serial number is
not working, then please check the
following:
- If you copy-paste the serial number make
sure there are no spaces at the start or end of
the serial number
- If you enter the serial number by hand make
sure all letters are uppercase
- You're entering the entire serial number.
All serial numbers begin with the name of the
application in uppercase (for example MAINMENU,
IARCHIVER, ...) followed by a combination of
dashes, upper case letters and digits

How do I buy an application?
You can buy our applications either from within
the application (recommended) or from the
webstore:
In the
application. The easiest and most
convenient way to buy is within the application:
- Launch the application
- Click Buy...
- Follow the on-screen instructions
Your serial number will be automatically
registered when you successfully complete the
purchase. The serial number will also be sent to
you in your order email.
From the webstore. You can also
buy from the
online webstore. You will
then be sent a serial number that you can
activate as described
here.

Where is my purchase order email?
Usually the purchase order email is sent within
minutes after a successful purchase. If you
haven't received your purchase order email please
try one of the following:
- Check your spam/junk mail
folder. Strict junk filters may
mistake the purchase order for spam email so
please check your junk mail for the purchase
order email. The subject line will contain the
string "eSellerate Order Notice".
- Visit our after-sales
area. You can have the purchase order
email resent to you by visiting our after
after-sales
support site.
- Wait for half an hour. For
various technical reasons it could take a bit
longer than usual for the email to arrive, so
sometimes the best thing to do is wait for a
short while.
- Contact us. If the
purchase order email is neither in your spam
folder and even resending it doesn't work then
please contact us and will have
it sorted out for your in no time.

Our applications are not physically shipped. In
your order email you will find a serial number
that you can activate as

Where can I download older versions of MainMenu?
You can download version MainMenu 1.7.3 from

This version runs on Mac OS X 10.3.9 (Panther)
and later. Note that this version is no longer
supported, so we encourage you to

latest version of MainMenu.

Yes. We will honor the promise made by the past

How do I uninstall MainMenu?
To uninstall MainMenu, move the MainMenu.app file
to your Trash.
In case you had "Keep authorized" ticked in the
preferences you may also want to delete the
MainMenu folder in Library/Application Support.

Why does MainMenu keep telling me it will quit
for security reasons?
If you get an error message saying that MainMenu
will quit because it's security has been
breached, then the most likely explanation is
that you used an application or system tool that
trims or otherwise modifies applications.
Applications known to cause this problem include
Monolingual and Xslimmer.
To protect your system, MainMenu does not allow
itself to be trimmed or otherwise modified by
other applications.
To prevent this error message from appearing, we
recommend that when you run these applications
you tell them not to modify
MainMenu.

I recently purchased Renamer4Mac, do I still need
buy the upgrade?
If you purchased Renamer4Mac after July 1st 2009

Why did you change the application name?
With version 4 we decided it was time to give
Renamer4Mac not just a shiny new interface but
also a simpler, crisper name. We believe that
Renamer captures the essence of our
application: an elegant, easy-to-use file
renamer.

How do I rename hidden files?
To rename hidden files you first need to get
Finder to show them:
- In Finder go to the Applications >
Utilities folder
- Double-click Terminal.app
- Type the following and then press return
defaults write com.apple.finder
AppleShowAllFiles -bool true
- Type the following and then press return
killall Finder
Now you can rename your hidden files in
Renamer4Mac:
- Drag in the hidden files now visible in
Finder
- Make sure "Name and extension" is
selected
- Rename files as usual
Once you're finished you can restore Finder to
hide hidden files again:
- Open Terminal.app again as described in
Steps 1-2 in the first paragraph
- Type the following and then press return
defaults write com.apple.finder
AppleShowAllFiles -bool false

Does Renamer support backreferences in regular
expressions?
Yes.
For Renamer version 4.0.1 and later you can
capture groups of a string with (...) and then
backreference the groups with $1, $2, ... where 1
is the first group and so on.
For example if you want to rename files
"img_001.jpg", "img_002.jpg", "img_00n.jpg" to
"01 - Photo.jpg", "02 - Photo.jpg", 0n -
Photo.jpg":
- Click Search & Replace
- In "Search for:" enter "img_0(\d\d)"
- In "Replace with:" enter "\1 - Photo"
- Select the "Regular expression" tick
box
- Select "Name only"

backreference with \1, \2, ...

What kind of encryption does iArchiver use?
iArchiver uses pkzip encryption for Zip archives
and AES-256 for 7zip archives.

Can iArchiver split and combine archives?
Yes and no. Yes, iArchiver can combine multi-part
RAR and 7zip archives. And no, iArchiver
currently can't split archives.
Due to popular demand the split feature may well
be added soon.

Where does iArchiver store temporary files?
iArchiver creates temporary files in random
subdirectories in
/private/var/folders/
These directories will be deleted when you quit
iArchiver.
Should iArchiver crash you can safely remove
these directories. Alternatively you can reboot
your computer and let Mac OS X delete them for
you.

We're working on an update that will include this
as an option in the Preferences.
In the meantime you can use the following
workaround:
- Go to the Applications folder (or wherever
you installed SlidePad)
- Ctrl-Click on SlidePad.app and select Show
Package Contents
- Go to the Contents directory and
double-click Info.plist
- Click on one of the rows
- Click Add Item
- In the Key column enter NSUIElement and in
the Value column enter 1
- Click Save and then select File >
Quit
The next time you start SlidePad it will be
without a dock icon.

Yum starts but I can't open any recipes
Yum requires Mac OS X Leopard (10.5).

To copy recipes between collections:
- Select the recipes you want to copy
- Drag them to the other collection
