Numbering files

Renamer4Mac saves you hours work by numbering thousands of files at once. Let's assume you just downloaded photos from your digital camera and find them in the format IMG_3241.JPG, IMG_3245.JPG, ... and you would like to rename to something more meaningful such as My holiday 01.jpg.

Step 1: Switch to numbering mode

Download Renamer4Mac if you haven't already done so. Launch Renamer4Mac and click Number to switch to numbering mode.

Step 2: Drag in photos

Select the photos you want to rename in Finder and drag them into Renamer4Mac.

Step 3: Pick a label

Enter the common label for your photos (such as My summer holiday) into the Label textfield.

Step 4: Set the rename format

In the Text format drop-down list pick "Label - number"

And finally, click Rename to perform the rename.
