Drop shadows

Drop shadows are an easy way to polish your images and pictures, and are an all-time favorite among graphic designers. With ResizeMe, you can batch process and add drop shadows to hundreds and thousands of images at once, all in just a few simple steps.

Step 1: Drag in images

Download and install ResizeMe if you haven't already done so. In your Applications folder, launch ResizeMe. Drag in the pictures to which you want to add a drop shadow to into ResizeMe's file table.

Step 2: Select Drop Shadow

Select Drop Shadow from the operations pop-up menu.

Step 3: Set options

Select Shadow to turn on drop shadows.

To change the color of the drop shadow, click the color box below the Shadow tick box (although we recommend black for best effect).

To change the position of the drop shadow, adjust the Angle value. An angle of 0° puts the drop shadow above the image, 90° to the right, and so on. The standard angle is 135°, which places the drop shadow to the bottom-right of the image.

To change the distance of the shadow from the image, adjust the Offset value. To change the spread of the shadow, adjust the Blur value. To change the transparency level of the shadow, adjust the Opacity slider.

Step 4: Save the files

Once you've set all your drop shadow options, click Go, pick a destination for your shadowed images and click Go.
